ETL / Data Engineer – Permanent

Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum + bonus and great benefits


Location: Hybrid/Flexi Working model


We are working with an established financial house based in London with other UK offices and looking for a ETL / Data Engineer who has come from a finance background and has security change experience.

The ETL / Data Engineer will play a key role within an Agile Engineering Squad responsible for building and automating data pipelines that ingest/transform data from heterogeneous sources into our recently commissioned enterprise Data Platform. Delivering against known ETL patterns the role holder will be responsible for both developing new solutions as well as refactoring existing ones.

Key Skills: - Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of the ETL process. - Provides technical consultancy on ETL solutions and patterns to instigate change. - Drives ETL and orchestration activities and ensures the changes fit into the overall delivery. - Adopts and adapts appropriate software development methods, tools and techniques. - Contributes to the estimation model and ongoing estimations for projects and within sprints. - Authors high-level designs and solutions hat bridge between the Architectural solution and detailed specification. - Ensures adequate documentation is created and/or updated in line with changes. - Reverse engineers and refactors existing code where required as well as innovating new solutions. - Codes the defined changes into ETL and orchestration tools according to predefined standards. - Utilises appropriate tooling and analytics to ensure changes are efficient and well-engineered. - Ensures that all changes are recorded under version control. Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ETL development. - Extensive knowledge of ETL concepts, tools and data structures. - Expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. - Data Modelling. - Strong SQL experience. - Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly. - Ability to perform complex data analysis and troubleshooting

Desirable: - Hands-on exposure to Informatica, DBT, Control-M and Snowflake

- Data Vault 2.0 modelling
